Meeting Rules:

SMART Recovery meetings are about

peer support and connection.

Our Code of Conduct for online meetings:

1. Checking In -To protect this community’s safety and confidentiality, during the check-in everyone is required to turn on their video (camera) and to unmute themselves when speaking. Please note that audio and video recording is prohibited.

2. Please use the reactions button to put your hand up so we know when you want to participate.

3. Confidentiality. What is said in a meeting, along with who is attending, is held confidential among the attendees and facilitators unless someone breaks this code of conduct or a person’s safety is at risk.

4. When not speaking, please mute your microphone to eliminate external noise. To avoid distracting others, please turn off your camera if you are eating, smoking, vaping, or moving around. Please add “listening” to your name to let the facilitators know you are listening only after checking-in.

5. Basic Conduct When commenting or giving feedback to others, please be supportive and helpful.  Being kind and compassionate invites more productive interaction.  When you speak about yourself, we encourage you to be open and honest and let us know if we can be helpful with recent challenges during check-in.

6. We do not give advice. We share ideas and make suggestions by using “I” statements.  No monologues. Please don’t talk too much or for too long.  No social commentary, philosophical debates or political, and religious topics. We don’t criticize other recovery groups or approaches. Whatever works best is the best for the individual.

7. Mininum: If there is less thing 6 active participation at 10 minutes after the meeting start, then there will be no meeting.

8. Willing do one-on-one if requested.
